Privacy Policy

The short version: this app collects nothing. It has no account system, no server, no analytics and no advertising. Everything you put into it is encrypted and stays on your iPhone.

Who this policy is from

Platinpanzer Vault (“the app”) is developed and published by Marleen Claes (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app. You can reach us at marleenclaes@protonmail.com.

Information we collect

None. We do not collect, receive, store, transmit or process any personal data about you. Specifically, the app does not collect:

your name, email address, phone number or any account credentials — there are no accounts;
your IP address, device identifiers, advertising identifiers or location;
usage statistics, crash reports, diagnostics or any analytics events;
the contents of your vault, or any information about what you store in it.

The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting SDK, no advertising SDK and no attribution or tracking SDK of any kind. It does not create network connections to us, because we operate no server for it to connect to.

What happens to the content you store

Photos, documents, notes and cards that you add are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is derived from the PIN you choose using Argon2id and is never stored in plain form. The encrypted files live inside the app's private storage area on your iPhone.

This content is never uploaded anywhere. It is not backed up to us, it is not synchronised between devices, and it is not visible to us under any circumstances.

There is no recovery. Because the key comes from your PIN and we hold nothing, a forgotten PIN means the contents cannot be restored — not by you, not by us, not by anyone. That is a deliberate design decision, not a limitation.

Device permissions

Photo library. When you choose to import a photo, iOS asks for permission and hands the app only the files you pick. The app copies them into the encrypted vault. It does not read your library in the background, and it never modifies or deletes anything in the system photo library.
Face ID / Touch ID. Biometric matching is performed entirely by iOS. The app receives only a success or failure result. No biometric data is ever available to, or stored by, the app.

Purchases and advertising

The app is free in full. It contains no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no advertising, so there is no payment or advertising data to speak of.

Links to other websites

The app contains links to this privacy policy, to our support page and to Apple's standard licence terms. Opening one of them leaves the app and opens your browser. Those pages are operated separately and have their own privacy practices; this policy does not cover them.

Sharing and selling data

We share nothing with third parties, and we sell nothing, because we hold nothing.

Data retention and deletion

All app data is stored solely on your device. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes its encrypted storage along with it. There is no server-side copy for us to delete, and no deletion request you need to send us.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export or erase the personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or erase. You retain full and exclusive control of the contents of your vault on your own device. If you want to confirm this in writing, write to us at the address below and we will respond.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Because the app collects no data, any change would concern wording rather than practice.
